I will have to keep eye on prednisone too. Right now I only take for 3 days during really bad times.

Yeah I had medicine kick me into a manic episode but luckily not one of my psa meds. Type depends on your biggest symptom. If you have more depression than manic then that's Type 2. I get really bad mania and then swings of depression. But Unfortunately cannot take any antidepressant because it causes me to be manic. Also any meds that work like antidepressants like lyrica, cymbalta etc. I'm psych med free and staying that way. I've been utilizing coping skills I've learned through the years including prayer and getting in the bible .Its just a struggle.

I was never told which bipolar I have. I just had a full blown episode caused by prednisone a few weeks ago. I know I can't take that anymore. I take Valium when needed, it's the only thing that works for me. I was on so many drugs, lithium, seroqual, I started with side effects. My Goofy psychologist wanted to add more, my regular doctor said to much. I stopped all but the Valium. I've learned to deal with the depression, not easy. When your head is telling you to jump in front of a truck it's hard to fight. I took my Valium, sprayed my lavender and just meditated. I know it doesn't work for everyone. Everyone is different and these doctors can't go by what's in the books. You have to find what works for you, you know your body better then anyone.

I do. But with my bipolar I feel like someone's got the remote to my emotions. I'm all over the place.

I've only been recently diagnosed myself with psa. Only since May. It was only by chance I had a "breakout" like I've had before a few years ago that I was diagnosed but apparently it's been working on me way longer. I'm glad to know theres someone else In here that deals with bipolar too.
