Psoriasis And Injury
I have plaque psoriasis on my knees. I stepped off a curb a couple days ago and scraped up my knee really bad, ripped off a large chunck of where the pso is and above it. Its been hurting alot but does anyone know how to help it heal better and if the pso will now be spread to the spot that was injured since its connected to the area that already had pso on it?
☹ Do the areas of cuts and scrapes become repeated areas of plaque or just while healing?
I have always found that scraps and cuts do heal quicker now but they also turn to new plaque areas! I had a large area on my arm that I took all the plaque off of walking through a door way, it bleed quite badly but wasn't deep, by the next morning it looked like normal skin by the afternoon it was back to plaque!!!
Fun, isn't it ? ;)
People that have Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis can get infections really easy. I got a Septic infection in my knee due to a open spot.Always be alert to any swelling you get.
Actually the good part of psoriasis is the cut should heal quicker (fast growth of skin). However my scars usually cover over with plaques.
