Tyrone/Peachtree City, GA

I have had Psoriatic Arthritis for the past 4 years and tried many medicines. Th latest medicine is Otezla. I have been taking it for 4 months and seen no skin and joint improvement. Also, I stay sick to my stomach and have horrible headaches. I recently have noticed at my last doctor visit that my blood pressure is higher than normal by 20 point. I have decided to quit it tonight and just see what happens. I am thinking about trying natural ways and see what happens. Any input?

I found juicing certainly helped as in feeling generally better and initially it did help my psoriasis the first week. After that with increased stress I had an extreme flair up which I was more frustrated by because of the extra I was doing with juicing. Which therefore made it worse. For me personally I'm trying to figure out how to balance the stress out more than anything. Simply all the natural things I have tried, the dietary restrictions I have done, nothing outdoes stress. If I'm stressed it will flair, if I'm not it goes away (on my face anyway, the rest of my body doesn't overly change) within two days.

I truly believe mind set-positive thoughts vs negative- have a large impact on how our body responds. If the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) is highly activated then cortisol tends to be higher in our systems. Which then increases inflammation........which then can turn into a vicious cycle.

Every person with psoriasis unfortunately seems very different on how, what, and why they respond to very different things. I do believe there is a correlation in all of us ......just not sure as to what or why.......peeling away the onion layers to hopefully one day find out .

Good luck with your journey, regardless of full outcome with your psoriasis your body as a whole should feel better :)

I am also going to try the natural approach. I've been on Enbrel which really work great but I've been on for a long time and I thought Otezla was supposed to be a safer choice. I'm hearing terrible things about it! Right now I've been waiting since Jan 14th to even get it approved! Anyway, good luck to you on trying natural remedies. I had a lady tell me how wonderful tart cherry juice was working for her. I bought some, it kills your stomach! Anyway, you might try Yoga. It seems to be helping me, but its hard.

Hi this is very useful information..I have had zero side effects and amazing results from Otezla it is not suppose to affect anything..but with that being said I go February 1st to my family dr and am asking for blood work just to be sure...i started October 25th..I love it...I noticed some people take 1 a day only..have you thought about trying that even?
