Is Anyone Taking STELARA? I See No Results!

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Stockton, CA

I'm very frustrated, angry, stressed, feeling without hope. I started STELARA on December 2nd and I haven't seen anything good out of it. I was hopping to see my skin clear but all I'm seeing is my skin getting worse. I don't see my Dr. for my 2nd shot on the first week of January. Has anyone had the same effect or seen any improvement when getting the second shot?if anyone has any advice about this medication or how things started/got when taking this medication please share. Thanks again and… read more

Will see improvement with the 2nd shot. Hang in there. I am about 100%cleared most times and do have flare ups. We went to 8 week intervals. Good Luck.

I am no doctor, awaiting my Rheumatologist to call me in for another test and then a biologic.
It soes seem that certain types of Biologics suit different people.. so many people find Methotrexate tough to take, and it take 3 to 6 months for results to show. Stelara got great reviews but 2nd Dec ,, it's a little early, if you arenot happy or feel v sick, tell the Doc. I wish you the very best.

I saw results with methotrexate within a few weeks! I actually saw parts of my knuckles i hadnt seen in 20yrs but the side effects were rotten.

It's great to see some good news regarding Biologics, I am finding the comments honest, but not very encouraging.. Debbie I am glad that you got improvement after the 2nd shot. I think that the way these meds work, takes time, they basically lower the immune system, Tcells and stop the psoriasis or Psoriatic Arthritis from attacking the body so that couldnot be cured overnight.... I wish you well x

Well tomorrow is the day I go back to the Dr. to get the second shot. I haven't gotten any worse but haven't gotten any better. I guess I can say I'm just alright, feeling extra dry and super itchy from the knees down specially around the ankles. It's so bad that I can't sleep at nights and can't concentrate on my work at work. So frustrating but I guess I'm not miserable. So I'll keep you all posted on my Dr.s visit and see what she says.

Thanks to you all for the help and the advice. Hugs
