Psoriatic Nails And Nail Salons
Does anyone have bad psoriatic nails and go to a nail salon? If so, how did you find one that wouldn't freak out when they looked at the nails? Any recommendations for any in Southern Maine?
Pay the premium price for a broad diamond file, nail scissors with long handles and get some Epsom or magnesium salt. A good foot soak accompanied by great film and DIY. When you get the hang of it you will do a better, gentler job yourself. There are some brilliant long lasting nail varnishes and it won’t cost £££. My nails are heavily ingrown, pitted and some are a good half inch thick if left . The salts protect from infection and you feel 100% better after, worth the effort for sure.
I go to a podiatrist. They may not do pedis but he has helped to clear up my nails. Then I get a pedi!
I get acrylics because it keeps my nails thick and they don't break the skin as easily. And it makes me feel good!!
I gave up on my nails years ago, but I do get massages. True professionals are not phased and will always ask you what you can tolerate.
I go to salons with english speaking workers and have not had a problem. I did have some Vietnamese look at my hands and legs and not know about psoriasis. Not worth it.. I also worry about sterile facilities so i probably pay a little more.
