Tx with topicals & lt tx for decades. Psoriasis is widespread. Recently retired & want to travel at length. Hence biwkly lt tx is not am option. Is Methotrexate 1st drug of choice by most ins?
I just started methotrexate 3 weeks ago.. weekly blood draws are a pain in the ... Topicals never worked, best was a clobetasol topical solution.05%, cleared scale from ear canal, head and navel.. I am also retired and blood draws limit travel .. open to other remidies
In Canada you have to try and fail Methotrexate first before you get put on a different medication. Methotrexate comes in pill or injection form
Hello! I found out that the doctors try you on the topical medicines and soak powders then they start with the oral medicines and then the injections or infusions. I started with the topical creams, soaks and other medicines before the injections then the insurance approved. I guess they want to see what works first how long you had the problem and to make sure the doctor tried all the other medicines before you try the heavy duty medicine. Wish ;you the best. Make sure you talk to your doctor about this.
