Flare Up On My Face/eyes
I am in the midst of a flare up on my cheeks and eyelids (mostly). I am not taking any meds for psoriasis. I use a gentle face wash cream, lots of mild baby Aveeno psoriasis lotion on my face.I don't know what provoked this flare up, nor how I can get it to go away.
It's particularly annoying because any make up I use just sticks in the flaky patches, and makes me look a million years older than I really am!
Thanks,
Cathy
Thanks for your notes, ladies! I am in agreement about how some things work for a while, then they suddenly done. Ugh. I recently changed from the Aveeno Baby Psoriasis lotion to CeraVe eye repair lotion for around my eyes and on my eyelids. It cleared it up and started repairing the skin almost instantly. So I have ordered a CeraVe night cream for my whole face.
Thanks for the tip for CeraVe eye repair lotion....I already use their psoriasis wash...I too, find that some products just don't work after awhile. So I do a rotation of different products...in lotion and body washes...CeraVe, Cetaphil. I also use something I found from Puritan's Pride website by HomeHealth, Psoriasis medicated scalp and body wash...(I don't have scalp psoriasis, can't vouch for it working there)...Also, some time ago I read that a 1/2 and 1/2 mix of vegetable glycerin and witch hazel helps. I saw it somewhere on this site, but I honestly don't remember who, can't take credit for it myself. I heard there's someone on YouTube that does a makeup tutorial for psoriasis, I haven't seen it yet. Have a great day!
I'm a believer now! On the CeraVe bandwagon, using it as far and long as it will take me. Smile.
Thanks for the response, Mary!
Cathy Rose, I can tell you you will fall in love with CeraVe. hey, make a whole line of affordable products that I have never found too expensive and always offer some comfort. Hey if the product only works for awhile, so what ? I am comforted by the CeraVe line.
Sometimes I find that after using a product for a while it becomes a problem. Maybe try changing the Aveeno lotion for something else and see if it makes a difference. Take care
