I have had psoriasis for 20 years on my scalp but the last 4-6 weeks it has appeared just under my nose and the sides of my eyes... Very red and sore which is upsetting me so much. What do people recommend as a) a good face wash and cream and b) what's best to treat it? TIA x
I get it around my nostrils, I just put ointment on it when it stings (I don't really notice it most of the time otherwise because most of it is quite literally inside my nose). Face is kinda a tricky place if you're acne prone and it's in more visible places... for which you could try a dry oil (grapeseed and hemp are good choices since they're highly unlikely to cause break outs and both have some anti-inflammatory effect (Grapeseed is also anti-bacterial, which is great for acne)), leave on for half an hour or so then wipe off with a toner (I use witch hazel with lavender - lavender also has anti-inflammatory properties)... and only apply anything that forms a moisture barrier (at least to leave on) directly to where the Psoriasis is flaring.
For the eyes, you could try eye drops... but most other things shouldn't be applied around the eyes and I have no idea what one would do about that.
I wish I had more advice... there isn't a lot out there about how to manage Psoriasis on the face and I couldn't find anything helpful on the subject when I was trying to figure out what to do about my nose last time it cracked. Pretty much all I could find is that they don't suggest steroid use on the face.
Try Goat soap from the Beekman guys they gave all sorts of lotions and shampoos
I use rose water and dove sells a body wash ( mousse) with rose oil in it.
