Methotrexate is what they used to give a lot of people for cancer and actually they still do give methotrexate for some types of cancer. My cousin had lukemia and was taking methotrexate. But there are a lot of new biological medications out there that are clearing people anywhere from like 40 to 100% clear of psoriasis. You will have to get into an appointment with a specialist to be prescribed these kinds of medicines because they are very advanced medicines and very expensive. They may have to fight with your insurance to make them pay for it but there are a lot of psoriasis organizations out there now that help make it easier for the less fortunate to get the medicine they need for their chronic condition.

a lot of people like the methotrexate but it was the lowest medicine on the poll. So many health risks. I honestly would take it for however long your required to take it, but then when you can tell them its making you way to sick or something so that they will put you on a better medicine. The reason they put people on that still is because its the cheapest for insurance but also the worst for your health. But if the medicine " fails " they will put you on a better top notch medicine. They have been coming out with a LOT of new medicines for psoriasis but theyre expensive.

I get spots too it’s like the the hair follicles infect and I have to soak them in hot water.

First of all I am sorry that you are dealing with this. Psoriasis is not fun. I have been dealing with mine for 5 years. I have not heard of tiny pin prick spots. I would look for a functional doctor which can heal you from the inside. Just my advice to you. I recently moved away from the cold to the south for the warmth and the beaches, salt water and the sun is good for psoriasis. I have it on my scalp, bottom of feet, palms of my hands, my elbows. I hope you are able to locate a doctor which can help you. Best of luck, Terri
