Psoriatic Arthritis
I was prescribed prednisone 4 weeks ago as my left hand swelled enormously and psoriatic arthritis was thought to be the cause. I have suffered with mild pustular psoriasis mostly on the soles of my feet for some 10 years. The drug was given pending receipt of the blood and MRI tests. Best of luck with your Rheumatologist... Prednisone is just to reduce inflammation but sometimes necessary... Ask your Rheumatologist about anti inflammatory diets, supplements, Biologics and then do some research to make an informed decision.
Fight this with everything you’ve got.. Blessings..
Start by asking if steroids work for Ps in most cases? The answer is no. It is rare for us that it does but will for other disease we may also have (comorbidity). Steroids aren't really a treatment for disease but for symptoms. Ask how they actually intend to treat your illness.
I have avoided methotrxate too.....
