Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with guttake psoriasis exactly a year ago and have been able to manage it quite well. However I have been vegetarian for 3 1/2 years and looking to convert back to eating meat in moderation. The only thing stopping me is the fear that I will trigger my psoriasis and make it worse abs unmanageable. Has anyone ever changed their diet or transitioned back to meat with psoriasis? If so was there any affect on your flare ups? Did it help or make it worse?
I follow the autoimmune diet. I basically eat organic meats, vegetables and low glycemic index fruits.
Kachava has worked really well for me for an anti-inflamatory diet. Theres not much i can eat. It’s a vegan powder drink to supplement protein. I add banana and honey.
As dumb as it sounds, when I lived with my parents, psoriasis wasn't really a problem. The lifestyle I was on (fine, forced upon) was very different than what I eat now. Figure my mother shops at an organic market and makes 90% of the foods to eat. And often, it's vegetable heavy. Psoriasis activated in the mid-20s for me and seemed to have kicked in around 30.
I think perhaps, eating meat in moderation might be fine. I suspect the fact I started eating fast food a lot and tanking my system with energy drinks and mt dew (yes, i'd mix amp and mt dew) didn't help me at all.
I am vegetarian and it is good for me.
