Does Anyone Cut Off Scalp Scales From Psoriasis?

Does Anyone Cut Off Scalp Scales From Psoriasis?

I'm finding that the scales are hard, stick up and get caught on a comb. Every time I cut them off, hair is removed. Hair is thinning dramatically.

Linda, I am dropping Mineral Oil in my ears 1 - 2 times a week. It helps to keep the flakes from building up within your ears. I learned that the hard way.

I remember as a child my hair falling out when my parents made me use that medicated stinky shampoo 😒.. I have discovered to look for the shampoos that don't have silicone and my head has actually cleared up tremendously I really enjoy the charcoal shampoos

Unfortunately, thinning hair is common. I have small bald spots in various places. However, the itching is so severe when a flare-up occurs, it is simply impossible not to scratch until the areas become open wounds. This in turn makes this condition exacerbate exponentially. It's a hampster wheel with no exit. Sometimes, and I don't know if it will help you, but putting ice packs on the insanely itchy areas until the skin no longer has sensation helps me. My freezer is loaded with them.

I've also been trying a coconut based scalp treatment, but cannot give any long term updates as I've been in the hospital for a bit and unable to continue.

I have both plaque psoriasis and now psoriatic arthritis. It's debilitating if not treated and will destroy your skeletal system. Please stay on top of things with a skilled physician.
