SUGAR!!!! Please people, all those things that contain a whole lot of sugar (soft drinks, Coke, Fanta, Energy drinks, Pepsi etc.,) as well as candy, bought biscuits, etc., all those things have tons of sugar in them, and they will keep your P in a state of flaring. DON'T EAT SWEET STUFF!
Another thing that has been proven, is stress. There are many forms of stress, and most of them will affect your P.
I recently had surgery on my toe, where the surgeon had to cut away half my toe nail because it was ingrowing...and P had lifted it so that it wasn't even attaching to my toe. So he cut the nail in half and then also cut out the root so it wouldn't grow back. (I watched while he cut it all away and the nurse was quite upset that I watched the doc do it. She felt I needed to lie down and not see the procedure. I had told her I'm a farm girl all my life....I grew up with blood and guts and this was a nothing...so I was completely relaxed about it.) Well, P didn't like it at all, because it flared up and all the kin started falling off my soles. So there is another type of stress. Same thing happened when I broke my ankle, and the skin all fell off my soles then too....yet I wasn't stressing emotionally. So as I said, stress also means physical stress.

If I eat something that I'm allergic to my skin will get so extremely dry from the top of my head to the tip of my feet. I can't apply enough lotion it just dries up. I've never seen wrinkles form as fast as when I have a flare.

My father was a Type 1 diabetic from my age of 3 so I grew up with it. My mother changed our entire family's diet to be the same as my fathers, so that he didn't feel we missed out on anything and we didn't feel as though he was any different from anyone else.
I think diabetes is a dysfunction of the pancreas, so in my opinion, not a disease at all. I don't think it is an autoimmune dysfunction either...just a condition created by an organ that is not functioning properly.
