Skyrizi is a biologic medication that works by targeting a specific protein called IL-23 that causes inflammation in psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Clinical trials have shown that it helps reduce joint inflammation and swelling in many people with PsA, though response rates vary - about 51-57% of people see improvement after 24 weeks of treatment. If you're experiencing arthritis symptoms in areas that aren't responding to Skyrizi, it's important to have your rheumatologist evaluate these joints. They can examine the affected areas for swelling and tenderness, test range of motion, and determine if your treatment plan needs adjustment. Sometimes people with PsA may need to try different medications or combinations of treatments to effectively manage all their symptoms.
