I totally agree with this! With the extra load that I am taking on with Dan and the house, the car repair, it is stressing me out too much. I get Ice Pick headaches or Trigeminal Neurologia. It sets off another cascade of problems. BP goes into the red. I take the meds for the ice pick to reduce the pain but then my sodium levels crashes and the BP goes higher. Now I need to take Losartan to bring the BP down. My heart MD says only do 25 mg but the kidney MD wants 75 mg . Now more inflammation going on. Shoulder needs a replacement but all hospitals will do day patient only. I have side effects. UCONN and AETNA have not agreed on a contract. Surgeries will not begin until January 2! I am being squeezed tighter and tighter been the doctors! Help!๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Thank you ART515. I could use it and a good night's sleep and maybe a warm vacation. I had a healing of hands with my church elders once. Did not work. Just not a big enough believer? Why did the car repair place say to bring my car in on Friday night when they will not start work until Monday PM? Thanksgiving week to shop with a 2025 rented car with too many bells and whistles to think about! I would hate to have a short in the battery. I would not be able to get out!๐Ÿ˜†

Is psoriasis an internal fight with yourself?

Many people with psoriasis describe it as exactly that - an internal battle that affects both body and mind. The condition involves the immune system mistakenly attacking healthy skin cells, which is literally an internal fight happening within the body.

Beyond the physical aspect, there's often a significant emotional and mental struggle. Living with psoriasis can trigger feelings of:

- Anger at the body for betraying you
- Shame and embarrassment about appearance
- Self-consciousness that leads to isolation
- Resentment about having to deal with a chronic condition

One MyPsoriasisTeam member described going through feelings of being "angry, sad, embarrassed, and resentful" after becoming 80 percent covered in plaques. The internal dialogue can be harsh, involving constant battles with negative thoughts about yourself and worrying about how others perceive you.

The stress and anxiety from this internal struggle can actually make psoriasis worse, creating a challenging cycle. Stress increases inflammation, which can trigger more flares, which then creates more emotional distress.

Finding acceptance and practicing self-love are key strategies many have used to navigate this internal fight. Working with healthcare providers - including mental health professionals who can teach coping strategies - can help reframe negative thoughts and reduce the emotional burden.
