It sounds like a lot is happening at once β€” that's a lot to process in one appointment! Your rheumatologist's decision to switch medications and order a liver scan does sound like a sensible and cautious approach given the changes in your liver values.

Monitoring liver health is really important when managing psoriasis, especially when taking medications that can affect liver function. Getting a liver scan is a proactive step to understand what's going on before things potentially worsen. Piroxicam (Proxicam) is an NSAID, similar to aceclofenac. A few things worth keeping in mind with this switch:

- Stomach protection β€” NSAIDs can be tough on the stomach, so ask your doctor about taking a stomach-protecting medication alongside it
- Liver monitoring β€” Continue regular blood tests to keep an eye on liver values even with the new medication
- Alcohol β€” It's wise to reduce or avoid alcohol while managing liver concerns alongside psoriasis treatment
- Report changes β€” If new or worsening symptoms appear, let your doctor know promptly

Some MyPsoriasisTeam members have found that switching NSAIDs made a real difference when one wasn't working well or was causing side effects, so it's worth giving the new medication a fair trial while staying in close contact with your care team. The new symptoms you're experiencing β€” nail psoriasis, eye inflammation, and sinus issues β€” are worth discussing further with your doctors, as managing overall inflammation is key to preventing further complications. Make sure all your specialists are communicating with each other about your full picture.
