Dr. Anna Chacon is a dermatologist and author originally from Miami, Florida. She graduated as the valedictorian at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami. She completed her undergraduate degree in economics at Brown University and went on to complete medical school in the Program in Liberal Medical Education at Brown. She received a scholarship to pursue clinical clerkships at one of the largest hospitals in the Middle East, Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, Israel.
Following medical school, Dr. Chacon completed a fellowship in dermatologic and laser surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Keyvan Nouri, during which she authored many articles and book chapters, and managed several clinical research studies. She then completed a one-year surgical internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center. She completed her dermatology residency at LAC + USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. She is currently a board-certified dermatologist in South Florida.
Dr. Chacon has received additional training in Hansen’s disease (leprosy), skin disease in the setting of HIV, Mohs surgery, laser and cosmetic dermatology, and advanced techniques in minimally invasive cosmetic surgery.
She has authored over a dozen peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, and Cutis.
In addition to treating patients with skin cancer or cosmetic concerns, Dr. Chacon also sees patients with rashes, psoriasis, eczema, acne, warts, and all other dermatologic problems.
Dr. Chacon aspires to treat her patients like members of her own family, showing them compassion and respect and helping them to make educated decisions about their skin care to benefit their overall health and well-being.
