hi,ive been through this and think exactly the same as you,its awful at night the pain in my bones is so painful and i find it difficult to move in bed :'( ive also got diabetes and have neuropathy so have really bad pain in my feet i have to take pregabalin tablets which really do help lots but have really horrible side effects but have to just put up with it as if i dont the pain will come back :(

Don't think there is a specific test for it and sometimes people diagnosed with gout actually has psoriatic arthritis. I can tell u it is very painful for me to the point of crying and my pain relievers don't seem to help when it is so bad. So that is enough for me to go along with the doctor saying I have it. But I wonder sometime if bone cancer is a possibility because of my pain.

Also if you have more than 3 swollen joints.
