Also when I use Betnovate scalp application, the next day I have a huge build up of skin and I end up picking it off, am I meant to do this or just leave it? I just can't see how it will go if I don't pick it off as its so thick. I shouldn't complain as its, only on my scalp. Not had it over all of my body for about 5-6 yrs now- that was agony!
@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member, I get relief when I dye my hair as well. I use a hypoallergenic developer and Loreal extra gray coverage permanent dye. I have to dye my hair ever 4 weeks. It does burn a bit, but afterwards seems less itchy.
I can only tell you what i have found that has worked for me. I use pantene classic or loreal evolve (never Dove). I live by a golden rule for body wash and shampoo, if it doesn't remind me of dishwashing liquid than its worth giving a go. Plus i dye hair every 5 to 6 weeks with nice and easy hair dye (not bleach) it stings where the psoriasis is when you first use it but the results are worth it, how ever rinse it out if it gets to much, everyone is different and i came across this by accident. On saying this i haven't had psoriasis in my scalp for 10 yrs thanks to this. Good luck
Try diprosalic scalp application. I was recommended it 15 years ago by a lovely hairdresser and it always always works. I've told soooo many people about it and they all agree. My consultant dermatologist also approved when I told her it's what I use. Good luck!
I only managed to get it off my body by getting light treatment for 3 months. But I was totally covered in it from head to toe, except my face, hands and feet. Not had any on my body since, just my scalp.
coconut oil is my favorite oil to use on my body and scalp. It has anti inflammatory properties that help a great deal and a whole lot better than steroid creams for me
