Anti Inflammatory
I've been on Meloxicam 15mg daily for over a year but really do not find that it helps unless I take double the dosage that I'm prescribed. I just switched to Celebrex 400mg daily and am hoping that I have better results with it. What anti inflamatories have you tried? What if any do you feel work the best for you?
Lynn, I'm on 12.5 mg methotrexate every Monday, 1mg folic acid daily, and now 400mg Celebrex daily. I start Enbrel in a few weeks once it's cleared with insurance. It's only been 2 weeks but honestly the side effects haven't been that terrible and my plaques seem to be getting a little better. I'm hopeful that after a few more weeks or months of treatment my skin will be clear and my pain will be better or hopefully gone.
I dont know if Cosenyx is working yet but I too want SOMETHING to help. The fatigue and depression kick in also and make it even more difficult. At least I'm not the only person with reactions to meds. I will say my rheumatologist has been working close with me. I will keep updated on the outcome.
I started on Sulfasalazine in February - I'm very tired and the pain has worsened. They warned me that bodily fluids may become yellow! I don't have any sense at all that it's making any difference. So I can't really add to your experience Angela, but I really hope you notice an improvement with the new meds.
That's good to know since I just switched to Celebrex! What's your dosage? He wrote mine for 400mg once daily....with the meloxicam I'd have to take it twice a day to get any effect and therefore I'd run out before my refill was due...hope that doesn't happen with the Celebrex.
