I have been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, had steriod injection which really helped with stiffness and the psoriasis but had another injection in my shoulder at the same time and had an elergic reaction so reuhmatoligist won't give me any more steriod injections.
Have been on methotrexate since April and has kept my psoriasis away but done nothing for my joint pain and stiffness so back on steriod tablets prednisone, which does help They now want me to go on this trail for Benepali but need blood test first which have to be sent away and take 3 weeks to get results back. I hope they can do something to help you.
I'm newly diagnosed and have had to come off very long term steroids as a result. I'm off them and fully on methotrexate and folic acid now. I must admit to being disappointed that I don't feel better than I do after ten weeks of methotrexate. I feel worse now than I did years ago and taking steroids. I've been diagnosed with Psoriatic entheses. I don't have any skin issues but my sister has very bad psoriasis. I hurt all the time. The stiffness makes me waddle when I walk but the tiredness is unbelievable. Can't wait for my follow up this Friday.
You need to start on medication for it right away. The longer you wait, the worse it will be. The worse it gets, the harder it is to treat as your joints are deteriorating from PSA. I had a 7 year delay in treatment and it's been really tough on me
Weight loss, constant movement, adequate rest and sleep, anti-inflammatory herbs, vitamin A, B complex, C, D3, probiotics, stress management, meditation. Cleared myself of symptoms by my follow-up appointment twelve months later.
I have good days and bad and I find that if I am open about it people understand if you can't be bothered.
