How long does it take to get some relief. I have been on it for 2 months. The 2nd month my Dr. Increased my dosage to 7-2.5 milligram pills per week. The first month was 5 - 2.5 milligram pills per week. I am desperate to feel some relief.

Thanks

I have been on methotrexate in varying doses for 3 years. I noticed improvement when I was on 6 tablets after a week. I could tell it was working because I would feel worse by the end of the week. When I flared earlier this year my doc upped my dosage to 10 tablets. I noticed relief right away.

It is a subtle relief though, not like taking Advil for a headache and getting fairly quick relief. Also, maybe you haven't reached a high enough dosage yet. The only real way to know if it is working is to stop taking it, but I wouldn't do that unless the doctor approves.

Well I finally thought I might be getting somewhere, and the doctor called today to say my liver enzymes were elevated, and now she had reduced my dose 😟
