Throat Problems?

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Bend, OR

Anyone else have problems with their throats (swollen tonsils, irritation/soreness, bleeding, tonsil stones?)?

I have a lot of involvement in my mucosa. I get P all the way into the back of my throat. It flakes and sloughs and bleeds during a flare (like blood all over my tongue in the morning) and makes me feel like I have a terrible throat cold.

I was curious if anyone else has delt with this and if you have any advice?

@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member I also deal with the same thing on a daily basis. It feels like I’m sick every day when I wake up. Sore, swollen throat, feels like I’m choking from mucus, and severly congested. I found out through my derm that my PSA was caused by a strep infection, so I’m more prone to get inflammed tonsils/sinuses. There’s not much I can do but I double up on allergy meds, and take Mucinex/Sudafed/Nyquil daily. Sorry to hear what you’re going through, I know how you feel. Hope that helps!

No kidding. A sore throat isn't a big deal but I'm pretty sure I have more P inside my body than on the outside (or at least stuff that's connected to the disease process).
I'm crossing my fingers for systemic treatment but I have no idea if my rheum will agree. I see him tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.

That is new to me... So sorry you have to suffer with this! I would think that the Doctors would have something for that as you could have so many secondary issues related to those symptoms,,,

If it's worse in the morning and gets better throughout the day only to start acting up again at night, there's a good chance that there's an inflammatory component to it. That's the way inflammatory conditions eb & flow.

I've been waking up with a sore throat & irritated tongue. Don't know if it's cause of my acid reflux or what.
