Are There Any Govt. Programs Or Financial Institutions To Assist With The Overwhelming Cost Om Autoimmune Medical Conditions?
Disability/Social Security! Psoriatic conditions do qualify as a disability per the government’s list. Check it out to see if you meet all the requirements for benefits. Hope you get some help!
Hello James not sure about govt assistance but almost all of the drug manufacturers offer a discount or zero co pay. I was on Enbrel for years and paid nothing. It usually is sent through a mail order pharmacy and your doctor needs to also fill out forms and send them. No one needs to suffer!
thanks all....back on humira with an $8 copay per month for bi weekly injection. Like the syringe...hate the pen..no control. Approved for SSD started august 1st. every little bit helps....hope to feel better enough to find some additional income before savings is depleted.................and life goes on
I tried the Abbie program but was rejected...
The only thing I can think of is a FSA (flexible spending account) which will allow you to put money in it to save specifically for medical expenses. This has to be done through your employer (I think SSI/SSDI has a comparable program in which you can save up more money in it than is normally allowed by SSI/ect, but the money still has to come from somewhere (like disability payments)), and it will take money from your paychecks before taxes - which is convenient, but maybe not what you're looking for?
