A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭

What do you do for scalp psoriasis when you also have oily hair at the roots? My scalp psoriasis is so bad it literally looks like it’s snowing in the seat of my car or anywhere around me on a dark surface plus I have psoriasis and several other places on my body. I hope to start humaria back and that will help a great deal. But like I said I have oily hair I also have for years had some kind of color or highlights on my hair so the ends are very dry. This may sound weird but I swear it works
At CVS there is a shampoo for psoriasis called MG217 I take a bath while I’m in the bath I lather my head up good with this and then I get a shower cap or a plastic bag from the grocery store and put it on and let it soak while I’m in the bath
Then I rinse it out put on conditioner and do it every night until I see improvement.
It works every time for me

Ask you doctor for Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution, USP. It is like water so use it lightly on your scalp it helps a lot. I use it when I really need it.

I use baby shampoo. I know it’s gentle but when I need a deeper cleanse I put a small amount of baking soda and it leathers up really well. I recently changed shampooing to a clearing suave shampoo and my psoriasis flared up again. I’m going back to baby shampoo. I also try to use conditioner only on my hair and not the scalp. That helps too. My dermatologist subscribed a medication and I use it when I need to.
