Anyone Have Trouble Losing Weight?
Been working on my weight but doesn't seem to be moving so I decided to look it up and read an article how having psoriasis could be the reason why? Anyone else know anything about it?
I have been doing the Keto diet for 8 months. I am currently down 46 lbs and feeling much better healthwise. I have been overweight my entire life so I know it has nothing to do with the psoriasis. I am currently on Taltz and have been taking the injections for 3 years. The psoriasis is not completely gone but it is better than it ever was. If there are no further improvements I am OK with that at this stage of the treatment. Some of my weight gain came from a anti-depressant I was taking. I took that pill for 15 years and the doctor never told me one of the side effects was that it made you crave carbohydrates. Once I stopped taking that pill it was easier for me to resist sweets. The pill was used to help me sleep. I just thought I would tell you that because it was not taken for depression. I do have trouble sleeping but to me it's better to have a problem sleeping over gaining weight. The Keto diet is the first diet I could stick with mainly because I am and always have been a huge meat eater. I do miss pasta but I want to lose weight more than eat pasta.
EnnyRojas, I started Keto and am at the middle of my 3rd week.
As far as weightloss and psoriasis, it is an autoimmune disorder, and most people with an autoimmune disorder usually have more than one. There might be some other ones lurking that need to be assessed, not always, but it's something to address if you haven't had success losing weight. It might be beneficial to see and endocrinologist if you haven't already.
Keto has been the first diet that I could stick to. I am over weight because I love food too much. It’s not psoriasis!
I have seriously limited my intake of gluten, I experimented with gluten free until I found a happy medium for me ( I'm a transplanted hillbilly and I love me some good buttermilk biscuits 'n gravy 😄 ) that's one weakness I don't care to be cut off from. 😄
I found that giving up gluten has helped me. I am also doing qigong more often now
