Psoriatic Arthritis And Biologics

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Bentonville, AR

I have psoriatic arthritis affecting large and small joints, neck, back, but without actual psoriasis patches. I have put off starting a biologic due to concern with black box warnings that they can possibly cause cancer due to decreased immune function. My father had RA and was on Orencia. He developed lung cancer and of course they stopped the Orencia. Thoughts? Anyone else have this concern? I am very stiff and sore and wondering if I should start them.

Like BethACooperDavis, my pain was so bad that I also have been on Biologics. I thank God that I have not had a problem but it is a very difficult decision.

I have been in such severe pain that I was willing to take the risk. At the same time, I can’t truly say that there’s a family history of cancer.

Leave it alone. Years ago they didn't exist. Pretend they don't now.
