Members shared an extensive range of solutions for managing scalp psoriasis itching and reducing the urge to scratch, with the most commonly mentioned treatments including prescription Clobetasol solution, tar-based shampoos like T/Gel and coal tar, ketoconazole shampoo, and biologic injections such as Taltz, Cosentyx, and Otezla that provided significant or complete clearing for many. Several members found relief through gentler approaches like ginger shampoo from The Body Shop, apple cider vinegar soaks followed by oil treatments, coconut or olive oil overnight applications, Neutrogena products, natural or fragrance-free shampoos, and even a UVB light wand, with many emphasizing the importance of avoiding hot water, harsh chemicals, and irritants like CAPB. A recurring theme was that finding what works is highly individual and often requires trial and error over years, with members encouraging persistence, sharing practical tips like wearing gloves at night to prevent scratching during sleep, using antihistamines for itch relief, and combining topical treatments with dietary changes or supplements like fish oil and vitamin E.

I believe all of the above may work. I would try everything to see what works for you. For me, I started the AIP diet. It’s a short term diet to see what triggers/ aggravates the Psoriasis. I
use Lucraderm powder daily in a smoothie. Vitamin E oil directly on scalp, cover and leave on overnight. I also used apple cider vinegar prior to applying the oil. The AC Vin. soothes the scalp. Rinse well with cool water only! I wash my hair with a product called Psoria-Care,
Shampoo and Conditioner. They also sell a scalp treatments. I leave that to on overnight as well.
Hope this or any other post helps bring you relief! I feel for you. I have Rx meds that simply do not bring any relief and are so very expensive.

*always cool temperature for water and for blowdrying. I cut out products in my hair that sit on my scalp like gels/mousse.
Good Luck💜

I had lots of scales and hair was getting very thin. From Amazon got a UVB ultra-violet wand and after several weeks of sessions mine cleared up and most of the hair has been growing back. I now go for many weeks between treatments. Only use it for a couple minutes moving it around. The wand was kind of pricy but it worked.
