EllieS, Doctors don't know about it as they should. the connection between MCAS and Histamine intolerance and Autoimmune disease is like a connect-the-dots puzzle. I follow several medical specialists' accounts on Instagram that cover that topic. Low histamine foods are also low in oxalate and low or no fiber. The body does not need fiber and it is usually very hard to digest. Meat, chicken, fish, and dairy are the way to go. I used to be lactose intolerant but now I can eat just about all of it. No fermented stuff though. It is high in histamine. I keep Zyrtec on hand but mostly for the muscle relaxer thats in it. Histamine blockers work to block the body's production of histamine, not what we take in from food and air, what works is to support the body's ability to produce the DAO enzyme that processes it and flushes out all histamines. I use desiccated organic beef kidney capsules. Works like a charm.

@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member, you always have the most informative answers :)
There’s a gastroenterologist named Will Bulsciewicz who has a Histamine tolerance building workshop online at https://theplantfedgut.com/courses/ where he offered food intolerance workshops too. He’s written a couple of books on healing the gut called Fiber Fueled.

Histamine Intolerance or HIT is very common in people with Pso and Psa, doctors just don’t talk about this like they should :(

it's not related to psoriasis though. sugar is inflammatory for everyone. headaches, brain fog, vertigo... some bodies are better at breaking it down and flushing the toxin out. HIT or histamine intolerance is a buildup of histamine that becomes hard to break down and flush out. brain fog is serious and can feel like wearing a metal bucket on your head. it affects eyesight and enhances hearing as well.

Brain fog can be a sensitive reaction to food. sugar, gluten, and starches are the worst offenders.

Yes I find lately that it is an effect it - I am 82 and had psoriasis for nearly 60 years - I get out of the fog by riding about in the yard on a lawn tractor - If you can walk ok just get out in the fresh air if you can
