I had never had issues with anxiety or depression, but as my disease (Psoriatic Arthritis) progressed I stated to get pretty severe anxiety and depression. I went to my family doctor to discuss and he felt there is a definite tie to PA. I gave me medicine to take as needed. It took me a bit to admit that was the problem but once I did and would take the medicine as needed I started to feel better. These types of things I find become much easier when we admit we have them.

I agree with Jolene, dealing with it is stressful. that can cause depression. I had a doctor tell me I would be in a wheelchair in ten years. that was thirty years ago. don't believe the drs. You decide your own treatment. don't let them put you on drugs for depression. stress flushes magnesium from the body. magnesium deficiency causes depresssion and anxiety. ask for a mag test of the tissue not blood.

I think there is a connection, but i am not sure how maybe being newly disgnosed, if you are in a flare, stares from people, not having good support system, meds that don't work or not being able to take certain meds could all lead to being in a depressive state from time to time. Good question to ask. What are your thoughts?

Hi PamelaLind. I can Recollect a Time when Body Building was My Life. If I wasn't at The Gym lifting I was in My Basement Pounding The Bag.
I used to get more Stares than The Mona Lisa with My 20 inch Arms & Ripped Abs.
Now-a-days, it's really nothing different I suppose.... most People get it, they Understand about this type of thing. Sometime's We may encounter The Uneducated or misinformed but it all Pans out at The end of The Day.

Yes, it gets to me sometimes. Like it's been mentioned the stares & can I catch it from you. Also people like to say isn't there something you can do about it. BELIEVE ME I'M TRYING! That's the hard part getting people to understand.
