OK so here goes, just remember tone cannot be determined by a quick post. I am not trying to be snarky ;) alcohol in general is not a bad thing, I would like to be able to have an occasional cocktail but it causes my psoriasis to flair and GERD to light up on fire. only you can know how you respond to alcohol, use your best judgement along with your doctors recommendation based on the type of treatment you are on. Good Juju.

U could but it's debatable. I actually found that it does amazin' things for the skin, however seems like it's not in our favor to have a splash of the bubbly...πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
There was a time in my life; some time ago. when I had this question for my doctor. At the time he thought it was fine and there was no problem with it. Come to find out he wanted to see me more often after I asked that question.
FYI: Years ago they used to prescribe alcohol to people for things such as depression and insomnia--today it's not prescribed for diddilly. I think times change based Upon the evolution of the healthcare sector & medicine. What works for some people might not work for the rest.🎟️

My dear an occasional drink or two is going to do nothing for you alcoholic ally. Do you care about your body. Psoriasis is a long road to travel. For me it's now seven years no alcohol the psoriasis is definitely much better. On YouTube Dr Steven Gundry podcasts on diet is exceptional psoriasis is directly linked to leaky gut and this guy really puts healing food in the picture. Intermittent fasting does wonders for psoriasis together with a good eating plan. Because of watching what I eat and having only a 6 hour eating window which means I've worked myself up to having breakfast at 2 pm daily and I stop all eating by 8 pm I'm currently on no medication. Happy healing to you

How does alcohol consumption affect psoriasis? It's a really important question, and the short answer is: not great. Here's what the research shows.

Alcohol can worsen psoriasis in several key ways:

- It increases inflammation in the body, which can trigger flares
- It may speed up skin cell growth, leading to thicker, scalier patches
- It can weaken the immune system, making infections more likely β€” and infections can aggravate psoriasis
- Studies show a direct link between how much alcohol is consumed and the size of psoriasis lesions β€” more drinking, larger lesions Alcohol can also interfere with psoriasis treatments. Some medications like methotrexate and acitretin can affect the liver, and alcohol adds extra strain on top of that. Alcohol can also reduce how well acitretin works altogether. Many MyPsoriasisTeam members have noticed this connection firsthand. One member shared, "I have drunk so much alcohol, and I know I will pay the price with itchy skin." Another replied, "Alcohol makes mine worse, too!" General guidelines suggest limiting alcohol to no more than one drink per day for women and two for men β€” but for people managing psoriasis, even that may be worth reconsidering. It's always a good idea to talk openly with a dermatologist or healthcare provider about drinking habits to make sure treatments are working as effectively as possible.

It's prob not a good practice but there is something to it when it comes to winding down or blastin' that stress away.🦦
