Has Anyone Been On Tremfya For Psoriatic Arthritis And Had A Recuurent Sinus Infection?

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been on Tremfya for almost 2 years and have had a recurrent sinus infection since last October...literally a year ago. I have been on several antibiotics and it does NOT fully go away. As if that's not bad enough, I have had shingles probably 5 times since starting Tremfya, and the pain and stiffness in my lower back (from deterioration) has become much worse. My daughter helps me with my pants or shorts most days because I can't just bend to do it myself. It's as if my injections just… read more

Sounds like the medication has stopped working. You should check with your doctor.

I have been back on Tremfya since December. Went off it when the pandemic hit because I worked in a school and did not need my immune system to be lowered for any reason.I stayed clear for a year and a 1/2 then it started to creep up again. I suffer from sinus infections as well, but I can't say for sure that it is due to Tremfya because I did suffer with them before I ever took the medicine. What I have noticed is little moles more like skin tags around my neck and I really believe it's from the meds because when I stopped taking it for awhile they quieted down, but now I have noticed more since I started again. There are different biologics now that you can try if you think the sinus infections are from the Tremfya. I make sure I take vitamin C and D everyday since the meds do lower your immune system.

I do get the influenza and pneumonia vaccines, but shingles I can't because I'm too young.

Anyone with psoriasis or PsA should really get the Influenza, Shingles, and Pneumonia vaccines. Of course check with your MD first. It does make a huge difference
