I had blisters severely itchy hives. Doctors said it was idiopathic urticaria. One of my Doctors suggested I had scabies!! After suffering unable to sleep and ready to jump from a bridge, a nurse practitioner prescribed montelucast and another drug and I could sleep. PsA didn't appear until I had been diagnosed with RA and getting treatment for it for 2 years.
I agree with Deb, I have plaque psoriasis and have for 30 years, and now Iโm in my 60โs and thankfully No arthritis as of now ๐๐ผ
Hives are not psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PaA) is quite different from rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Are hives associated with RA? Hives are an allergic reaction. RA an autoimmune one, so maybe they're related. It requires a punch or deep scrape biopsy of a lesion to accurately diagnose psoriasis.
I had that and found it was related to fake food dye red40. Made from petroleum. Yuck
@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member My question was spurred from reading the article about first signs of psoriatic arthritis, I think that was it. I did have biopsies, they took what looked like a hole punch and they took several multilayer circular skin punches and nothing came from them.
