I use comfrey ointment or salve, it is deeply healing. I make my own but you can find a good one on Amazon or local health stores. Look for the purest. After a few uses the itching stops and you won't scratch as much. keeping the skin moisturized with help with the itching too and ointments just last longer and don't have alcohol which is very drying. Also, a shower filter is helpful to remove those nasty chemicals in our municipal water supply. Never use vasaline or petroleum based ointments.

Rub with ointment to soften and then use a rough towel to scrub the scales. I just scrape with my nails but that's probably not the best way. 😁

Gentle exfoliating seems to be very effective. Salicylic acid in products is useful, you can sometimes get stuff with moisturizing in it as well. I know clean and clear made a product like that I'm not sure if they still do.

Hi Robina 🌺
Thx for another good answer. Unfortunately I have scratched way too deeply & have raw places that are taking so long now to heal.
Which ointment do you recommend?
