Members opened up about the challenge of losing weight with psoriatic arthritis, sharing how joint pain, inflammation, foot issues like plantar fasciitis, and medications often make traditional exercise and dieting feel nearly impossible. Several members offered practical strategies that worked for them, including low-impact exercises like recumbent biking and seated yoga, dietary changes such as going gluten-free or eliminating sugar and red meat, using Vicks for toenail fungus, and exploring weight-loss medications like Zepbound when conventional methods failed. A recurring theme was the importance of finding what works for your individual body, showing yourself grace when progress is slow, and recognizing that managing autoimmune conditions like hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's can significantly impact metabolism and weight.

I started on the gluten free diet and lost 27lbs. I eat a lot of grilled chicken and salad. I don't eat anything after 6pm

Enthesitis
People with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) often experience pain and swelling at the back of the heel and in the sole of the foot (plantar fasciitis). This pain is caused by enthesitis. Enthesitis is an inflammation of the point where a ligament or tendon attaches to a bone.

Thank you TJ. Adding hypothyroidism into the conversation of weight loss with my doctor is a great idea.

It's a good idea to try sitting yoga I've heard it can be useful. I hope that works let me know.

On the other post about hypothyroidism I believe that definitely slows your metabolism down and causes weight gain so that may be part of the battle. I would talk to a doctor about that. As far as how to manage such.
