I sleep whenever I need to sleep.....my husband helps my daughter since her surgery on the 23rd....he sends ne to rest and comes and gets me if he needs me...I take care of the laundry for 8 people it could be as low as 4 loads and as high as 15-20 loads a week....depends on if a chicken pooped on some one, dog has a seizure, any body or pet in the house gets sick or spills food on something and finally the blankets, sheets and towels...I started on Sunday or Monday...when it gets dark I stop for the day and start over the next day and so on until it is done.

Today I took apart the medicine cabinet and re arranged it, scrubbed the floor on my hands and knees, scrubbed the sink and cabinet then rearranged top of the sink and inside the sinks storage in the cabinet. All 8 of us bathe in the bathroom....for a couple of days the kids bathroom down the hall leaked thru to the downstairs bathroom so we had the only functional bathroom.

This is all I can handle before my body yells at me. Since we have been back from my sons we have been sick...a couple of the kids we sick when we got back and I went for my therapy appointment, I brought a bug home from there. I had my upper endoscopy (they stretched my esophagus) then we all got sick again...my daughter was rushed to the hospital..if she refused to go we would have lost her and something is brewing urinary tract kidneys or bladder awaiting the results..

What coping mechanisms help combat the malaise and fatigue associated with psoriasis?

It's great that you're already doing 10-15 minutes on the treadmill before your workouts! That light exercise is an excellent strategy. Here are some additional coping mechanisms that may help:

Exercise and Movement:
- Continue your consistent exercise routine - even that 15-minute walk can positively impact energy levels
- Try gentler options like swimming, yoga, tai chi, or water aerobics if joint pain is an issue
- Start slow and focus on building consistency rather than intensity

Diet and Nutrition:
- Eat a balanced diet with lean proteins, whole grains, and fresh fruits and vegetables
- Include anti-inflammatory foods like leafy greens, olive oil, almonds, salmon, and strawberries
- Avoid fatty foods and eating late at night
- Ask your doctor about vitamin D or B supplements, which may help with fatigue

Stress Management:
- Practice relaxation techniques like meditation and mindfulness
- Get quality sleep - aim for consistent sleep schedules
- Set boundaries and learn to say no to extra tasks
- Keep a fatigue diary to track patterns in when you feel most tired

Medical Support:
- Talk to your doctor if medications are contributing to fatigue
- Work with them to find treatments that control psoriasis while reducing exhaustion
- Consider seeing a dietitian for a personalized nutrition plan
