what treatments are effective and are there any alternative treatments besides injections
I do. It just fluctuates usually not at the same time but one can trigger another meaning you can start with that and then the other one acts up. When you have psoriatic arthritis you get a little bit of both. Usually the arthritis but then psoriasis reminds you it's still there
Yes, I also have Psa and Ps, with every Biologic I am placed my on, WORKED on my Ps but not for my PsA, I was on Skyrizi, didn't work on PsA, off ,then Soma ARIA, had the starter dose, 1 month later the #2 dose, it was St. PATTY .Then all Hell brought loose. I woke up with Hugh PLAQUES, head to toe, they were 1 nches Thick, all over my body, my hair started falling out, my feet, never seem any Damn Thing like it, I Couldn't WALK, my feet were CHOPPED LIVER, I suffered . IT was so fast,so unexpected, so Painful, & Scared & I did not walked without excruciating Pain for 7months. Idk. I knew I wasn't going to make it back to any sense of life as b4 all this. Nothing said for quite awhile afterwards. Immediately removed from infusion, Now i am in a totally different mind frame. Body beat up, feet still Raw, was placed on another Biologic, Sterlara, Dermatologist. Months with lights 3minutes on my hands ✋️ 😑 & the bottom of my feet , twice a week. Let me say at 40$ a POP, for a 3minute session per twice a week = $80 week x 4 = $320!!!!! No, no no. WHAT!!, I can't afford that, Who Can, but the Rich & Famous. Had to STOP ✋️ 🫸 🫷 😪 that treatment and least of all, I felt like I was pushed thru like I was in a cattle drive, Totally Insanity Totally...I would voice my disappointment in all aspects of Our Health Care. This was nothing of what I expected, this harsh world I was in. Get me out of here, My Beat up body, my raw, chewed up hands, feet, torso, No Hair, well . Lots of Bald SPOTS. After some time, I did improve, over a year. That is when another doctor from the practice evaluated me. She saw were the damage was, said she was going to take MORE TESTS, she had a Hunch? She discovered, had RA ! thus the reason my SKIN was better BUT my excruciating Pain wasn't , not even Touched, 4YEARS of this craziness. I was Mad but No, Stop, I was Finally DIAGNOSED CORRECTLY. Year, after, year. How sad it that. Though i a 💯 sure, (We Are Many), . so 2024, I was placed ON ANOTHER BIOLOGIC. Xeljanz XR , at the end of Our Days, its all a guessing game with those who do not like to play, The rules are made up along the way. I am thankful, that doesn't mean that i will throw everything out the window, with the dirty dish water. We all r dealing with the same thing, one way or another, We Live & We learn &ADAPT. We are made Strong 💪, We are Resilient
I have both and have similar experience, they don't usually flare at the same time but can.
I use Enbrel and it has changed my life. you don't even see the needle and I rarely feel it. When I do it just a little sting that doesn't last long. It's really nothing to worry about, and given the benefit is worth the 5 seconds of minimal discomfort, a billion times less pain than dealing with PsA!!
mine does the same thing. I hate injections unless they can invent the EpiPen it hurst less
Do people suffer with both psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis?
Yes, many people experience both conditions together. Around 30 percent of people with psoriasis develop psoriatic arthritis (PsA), which causes joint pain, stiffness, and swelling along with skin symptoms.
