Claremore, OK

When I eat I always have had joint pain after eating. This was before and after finding out I have psoriatic arthritis.

@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member 》The most common reason for easy bruising is fragile capillaries (those tiny blood vessels). And there are several reasons why capillaries can become fragile, such as:

●Aging skin
●Sun damage
●Vitamin C deficiency
●Chronic inflammation

Adequate vitamin-C is important because it is required to produce collagen, which reinforces the walls of small blood vessels.

The test for Omega-3 levels (EPA/DHA compounds) is aptly called the "Omega-3 Index," but it's not a test doctors commonly give like testing for iron deficiency; and typically the test needs to be requested. And I wouldn't know why it isn't a routine test here in the United States and the United Kingdom, because Omega-3s are "essential" fatty acids. The body requires Omega-3s the same as it requires vitamin-C and so many other nutrients. That's why the term "essential" is attached to them.

So if you're not taking any Omega-3 supplements, and you either don't eat fatty fish or rarely eat it, then I would suppose it's better than a fair bet you are also anemic for Omega-3s. But, if limiting bruising by not taking them anyway is your priority, then the tradeoff may be to limit the bruising at the expense of running the deficiency.

But I understand. So good luck!

@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member 》Anemic for what, iron? There are actually over 400 recognized types of anemia. Arguably most Americans and the British are anemic for Omega-3 fatty acids.

Art515, I do eat well-fresh and mostly organic. No smoking, alcohol, soda only water. I miss my Natural Path but she was too expensive. Fruits in the morning with whole grains and Greek high protein yogurt. Meal later in the day would be chicken or beef in a blue moon, shitakii mushrooms, Farro, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes. No pasta or potatoes. So what is wrong with this. One coffee, no candy or fake foods. I had PS, have PsA, Sarcoidosis, Osteoarthritis, and more. My rotator cuff is torn so I need this replacement. I do not have time to sit and eat 3 meals a day if I tend to do my housework and watch hubby. Add the doctor appointments, CPA for taxes, haircuts, groceries, repair work. I do everything but the plowing, shoveling, mowing and taking out the garbage cans. I do everything inside and do the garden. Mom died last year so I do not have to watch her now. I am looking forward to 4 weeks in a sling and milking it for all it's worth!😁

I make my own oatmeal granola with lots of nuts high protein yogurt and fruits. One cup of coffee for my breakfast. Lunch is a full meal at 4ish. I pre make foods that I can just reheat during the week. No pasta, potatoes, starchy veggies. Bake not fry. No cookies or cake. I might put peanut butter on a graham cracker or an orange. I try to be careful. I do all the driving. Hubby doesn't understand his appointments so I am there. I have to use the phone set up appointments for us. I clean up after him and am on call for him always. I get into my rec room once a week when my sister comes. Add PT and every MD that I have for permission for my left shoulder reverse replacement. I am trying to put foods in the freezer to help me after surgery. I am very picky how things are cleaned and folded. I am too cheap to pay someone to come in to work when I will do it all over the next day, alone. I would like suggestions to aid me when I can not use my arm.😫
