I started with some symptoms and don't know if PsA related. Random sneezing and totally plugged up nose? Red, swollen tingly fingertips? I have DIP joint involvement, hip/ sciatic pain, enthesitis in elbows to wrists, feet, digestive issues. This nasal congestion and finger stuff is new. No new meds or anything. I've fought biologics but have a follow up appointment in July to discuss again. My issue is cost...well, and fear. Thanks for listening.

Didn't all of our mothers or grandmothers give us ginger ale? It always made me feel better, though it doesn't make me feel quite as good when I drink it now as when they gave it to me.
Ever try a Boston cooler? Vanilla ice cream with ginger ale, hopefully Vernors, blend.
Anyway....yes, biologic cost is a problem! I hope your insurance covers it. Mine made me jump through a couple hoops but they didn't fight me too much.
There are payment programs to help but they seemed a little challenging to deal with.
Thank you! Otezla was a buggar on my GI tract. Weight loss was a welcome thing as I'm overweight. It got better but then the depression set in. I did find that ginger ale helped my stomach. I'm not a soda drinker, but I remember my mom giving to me as a kid. I have an appointment with my rheumatologist on 5/11, biologics are on the table for discussion. It will all depend on if I can afford it. That's a whole other topic, right? I appreciate your wisdom. Thank you!
@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member It seems like you gave them a good try! I've found that some side effects dissipate after a few weeks but if they were getting worse over several minths, I'd quit too.
Have you asked your rheumatologist about biologics? I'm on Enbrel (and now Otezla too) but had no side effects from Enbrel-i have to say it changed my life.
Otezla is doing what it is supposed to, but I've also lost about 10 lbs in the last month. So far that's tolerable but I guess given your experience I should be on the lookout for other things to show up.
I hope you find something that finally gives you relief
3 months on Methotrexate. Headaches got unbearable. Otezla 6 months. Depression started at 3 or 4 months. By 6 months my family intervened. I stopped. Tried again and depression started after the first month or so. Was on LDN twice. Fatigue and depression. I still work full time and have to function at work.
