I am on Tremfya (3 yrs) and am also on Zepbound (5 months)- my GP prescribed it but I checked with my rheumatologist and she agreed. So far down 35 lbs and defiantly helping joint pain. I have had very little side effects but everyone is different - I would explore it with your care team. Good luck.

On the topic of Ozempic (semaglutide), it belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. There's growing interest in how these medications might benefit people with psoriatic arthritis, beyond just weight loss.
Here's what's currently known about potential benefits:
- Weight loss — Losing weight can reduce pressure on joints and may help ease psoriatic arthritis symptoms
- Reduced inflammation — GLP-1 drugs may lower systemic inflammation, which fuels psoriatic arthritis flare-ups
- No immune suppression — Unlike many PsA treatments, they work differently and don't suppress the immune system One MyPsoriasisTeam member shared, "I'm feeling really good taking Ozempic. I have seen less edema on my legs and knees. I'm hopeful."
That said, there are some important things to keep in mind:
- Ozempic and similar drugs are not FDA-approved to treat psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis specifically
- Research is still limited, and larger studies are needed
- Always speak with your doctor before adding any new medication, especially alongside Tremfya
It's definitely worth raising with your rheumatologist or dermatologist given your history!
