Sun City, AZ

My doctor suggested that I try laser treatment, which involves 3–4-day trips per week for the next 2-3 months. Has anyone had laser treatment, and what were the results?

Here's what the research shows:

- About 85% of people achieved at least a 90% improvement after 7–13 treatments
- Nearly 57% of people with psoriasis on the palms and soles saw complete clearance
- It's particularly effective for scalp psoriasis and hard-to-treat areas
- It's generally recommended 2–3 times per week, so your doctor's schedule sounds typical MyPsoriasisTeam members have shared encouraging results. One member said the laser got rid of a thick plaque on their leg and their skin color started coming back. Others have described their XTRAC treatments as going "great" and helping "so much." As with any treatment, there are some possible side effects to be aware of, including:

- Redness or blistering
- Burning or itching
- Swelling
- Skin color changes

These are usually short-lived. It's also worth noting that dermatologists may not recommend excimer laser treatment for people with a history of skin cancer, so it's worth discussing your full health history with your doctor.
