I live in South Louisiana. Drinking and eating go hand in hand. Whether it is at a bonfire sipping whiskey and (diet) coke, a beer while playing a game of cards with family, or a southern belle (diet tea and peach vodka), drinking is part of the social order. It's difficult and isolating at times when you're the odd girl out, not drinking. Health is wealth. It's more important than drinking.

It's hard when it's all around you! I don't drink much alcohol so can't speak to that but one thing to look at it the diet drinks - I've been reading it's being found more and more there is a connection between them (especially aspartame) and psoriatic arthritis flares. Maybe that helps, or maybe more bad news isn't helpful? 😑 I am also trying to figure out what foods flare me. All the best!

Try Willie's or Sprinkle non alcohol but CBD THC. Just a small shot and no after affect or hangover like alcohol.

I have nearly stopped drinking all together. Every once in a great while I will make an exception and nearly always pay for it with increased inflamation. I understand what you are feeling, I felt the same for months until I decided it was okay to do what was best for me. With friends and family it was pretty easy. I explained about how it affects me and they not only encourage and support but often go out of the way to make sure I have something I like and can have. The rest of the world can suck it. If you have family and friends do not support you and your health, maybe its time for less family and new friends. For me one night out drinking more that one glass of wine can affect me for a week or more after. I think its not worth it most of the time but every once in a while I don't care and do it anyway. Good Luck.

I have definitely backed off with drinking wine...both red and white much to my dismay as there is nothing better (IMHO) than a GREAT cabernet sauvignon or a Fumé Blanc...however, sipping pear vodka (Grey Goose, not Absolut) works just fine!

Agreed I drink a beer or 2 without any issues but steer clear of the sugary drinks.
