🤔I think psoriasis in the brain might be called... lesions... though they are two entirely different animals, I can see how they might be viewed as words meaning the same type of thing. The mypsoriasisteam auto response is right, psoriasis is of the skin not the brain. Who knows though!? There is such thing as scalp psoriasis, which is rather close to our brains.🎟️

Great question! Psoriasis itself doesn't directly affect the brain, but the inflammation it causes throughout the body can have some surprising connections to brain health.

The chronic inflammation from psoriasis involves proteins called cytokines, which can influence brain function. Some of these same inflammatory proteins are linked to cognitive conditions, which is why researchers believe long-term, uncontrolled inflammation may play a role in brain health over time. Here are some ways psoriasis-related inflammation can affect the brain and mental health:

- Depression and anxiety — People with psoriasis have a higher risk of both, partly due to shared inflammatory pathways
- Fatigue and brain fog — High levels of inflammation can leave you feeling mentally sluggish
- Cognitive health — Some research suggests long-term inflammation may affect cognitive function over time

The good news? Treating psoriasis effectively — especially with biologics that target inflammation — may also help protect brain health. This is a great conversation to have with your dermatologist, especially if you're experiencing brain fog, mood changes, or memory concerns.
