I am thinking of getting Phototherapy for my psoriasis. Has anyone tried this and what was the outcome? I would have to go three days each week for the next three months. They stress that I should not miss any sessions once starting this treatment. There are phototherapy equipment that I could purchase and do at home but they start around $300-$400, so am not sure about that. Hugh,
Where are you located? I noticed you use a different symbol for the $. Looks like British...maybe? I forget sometimes that people other than in America have Psoriasis.

Martin, yes I'm British living close to London. There are 2 uk companies that sell these units with the same tubes as the hospital. One is in Bristol, the other in Warrington. You could look those up to see the specifications and then look to see if anywhere over there does similar.

Do you want me to give you the website links?

It worked for me but quite temporarily. So I bought a full length uvb unit with Philips tl01 tubes to perform regular maintenance treatments. That was overall effective but since I went on methotrexate for my psa, that has cleared my psoriasis too so I no longer use the unit. It was about £1250 new and is now about 8 years old so keeping it just in case.
