As a child I had terrible psoriasis on my scalp. My mother used to wash my hair each night and put olive oil on it. She'd allow me to sit on the mat in front of our open fire and watch TV for an hour or so, before getting a fine toothed comb and combing out all scales which had softened right down. Thankfully, while the rest of my body is covered right now, my scalp is clear. Give it a try, I recall it being really soothing.

Wow! That's awesome!! Please let know if it works for you as well. So you just make a paste and rub it in the scalp?
