Can Scalp Psoriasis Cause Hair Loss?

Can Scalp Psoriasis Cause Hair Loss?

It seems like my hair is thinning and I just wondered if my scalp psoriasis could be a contributing factor. It's bad behind my ears.

I use T-Gel shampoo and I find it helps a lot. I have long hair so when I wash, I always loose a bit of hair but I don`t see it thinning out. It really helps with the itching. I`ve used it for a few months now and it cut down my psoriasis by at least half.

I have it on my scalp too its bad, and also behind my ears. I notice my hair is thinning too. Not sure if its from the problem or not.

I have it around and in my ears and at the hairline. I use medicated creams and it seems to relieve the itching and reduce the plaques. A dermatologist should be able to let you know if it is causing the hair loss. One thing that causes hair loss is a hypothydroid condition (also an autoimmune disorder). I have a hypothyroid and that was the big sign I noticed before being diagnosed... along with fatique and being cold. You can be tested with a bloodtest and treated easily if that is the case.
