Have tried Dovonex, methotrexate, exorex
Silkis etc, with not much success. Drs say I'm not suitable for biological therapies and because ps is quite contained to back of my calf and behind ears/ scalp not suitable for light therapy. What else can I do?
Arghh it's so frustrating when you feel like you really need the treatment yet there are so many barriers to getting it! You say you've tried methotrexate does that mean that you've already given ciclosporin a go? Maybe you're dr would let you try that to see if it is any more effective. I also know it's not the best thing to do but if it's contained to the back of your calf and behind ears/scalp maybe you could try sun beds if you find the sun helps to alleviate the symptoms- I know this is controversial but sometimes with psoriasis you get so desperate. I know you can buy you're own UVB lamps & UVB hairbrushes on places like amazon but they can be pricey. Have you considered alternative medicine a go? Some people have found success with acupuncture & chinese medicine (although there's also been some controversy with excessive steroid use for this). Maybe you could also try dietary changes like a heavy probiotic/prebiotic diet, a dairy-free diet, paelo diet or vegetarian/vegan have all been said to help but not always fun! Others recommend herbal supplements such as st johns wort or evening primrose oil. Whatever you do don't give up hope! Sometimes you have to really push your dr to get what you want and have to emphasise how much this is effecting you.

For the areas behind your ears or behind knees try a non scented lotion and add Neem Oil. The Neem oil has a strong scent so use minimal amount. I would mix 1/4 cup lotion and 2 teaspoons of neem oil. I found the neem oil at whole foods. Works wonders for the redness. on areas that I had that were extremely red an unbearable I would put straight neem oil. please try this truly worked miracles.
