I have been on Humira for about 8 months. At the start it worked well, but for the past 2 months I have had flare ups. Has anyone else had the problem of a biologic that has stopped working? If so, what do you think caused it?
I'm seeing my Derm this week. I hope I can get some answers.
Some Humira patients actually form antibodies against the drug. Your rheumatologist can run a humira antibody blood test to see if that is why you are no longer responding to it.
I am currently on cosentyx. It's two injections once a month. I have been on it for about three months and I'm about 95% clear. I had a bad flare up about a week ago on me.scalp and ears that was very painful. It started to clear up after about four days. I've been taking different medications for over 30 years and cosentyx is the only one that has worked so far.
Unfortunately that is a common occurrence. They tend to stop working after a while. Sometimes years and sometimes months... So you just have to keep trying until you find another that works...
