Both of these look the same. I got a biopsy done at the dermatologist. She said it was psoriasis but why do these two look so similar. Also why do my signs lean more towards eczema?
Sometimes I think it's a coin toss. 90% of my family has RA...after tested for it 4 different times, the results are still unclear. I honestly wish I had some sound advice for you on this sweetie but unfortunately I don't. Keep your head up and keep thinking positive thoughts.
Sorry you are having this. Doesn't hurt (although it might cost more $) to get a second opinion. I had a dermatologist diagnose me with pre-cancer and treat me multiple times with liquid nitrogen before I got a second opinion and found that it was actually psoriasis. Both did a skin biopsy? But the psoriasis treatment helped and the other treatments most definitely did not.
This article has some info on the two:

Hang in there!
They're both inflammatory conditions that cause irritated flakey skin. Severe forms of eczema and milder forms of psoriasis definitely can look almost the same. The areas for me that flare occasionally (my hands and knees) seem more like eczema because the flares are so short that they don't cause a lot of scaling (I call it "dusty around the edges" cus most of the time it just looks like I got covered in dust, when the scales are a little bigger it looks just like eczema).
The difference is mostly if the trigger is external (allergy = atopic dermatitis (eczema)) vs internal (reacting to the body's own cells = psoriasis). Psoriasis also tends to be very dry, where as eczema is a wetter rash (in my experience eczema weeps a thin liquid, if psoriasis weeps it's generally thicker like sap). Either way, it's still an immune response causing inflammation.
It's super frustrating, I feel ya. I got diagnosed with athlete's foot and eczema before, which it's neither. Took 10+ years to get a diagnosis of psoriasis.
