Has Anyone Had Success With Methotrexate?

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭

If methotrexate has helped you what kind of psoriasis do you have and where on your body do you have it. I have it on my hands and feet. My dermatologist said it's the hardest to treat those areas. My insurance denied Humira until I try 3 months of methotrexate. I'm on 5 mg every two weeks. Just took my second dose. I'm experiencing headaches and fatigue. Still having flare ups with my skin. I'm sorry we have to meet this way but it's so helpful to have support from you all!!

I was on Methotrexate injections for 10 years I have psoriasis on my hands, feet, elbows in fact all
My extremities.. I also take Humira for my psoriatic arthritis. Both work extremely well for me but I chose to stop
methotrexate I felt I was on it to long still take Humira . I decided to take supplements instead ie Flaxseed oil , tumeric MSM etc and find it all

I have plaque psoriasis usually largely on my feet. Also did methotrexate first like you but I noticed the biggest difference when I started Humira. It really helped with my skin and my body pain and imflammation. My rheum doc said that the methotrexate and Humira together do more for you than just each medication alone--the effect is compounded when taken together. It takes 6 months at least for my dosage to build methotrexate up in my system. I know it's hard to have patience but hang in there! And fight to get the Humira once you've been through the trial period with just Methotrexate.
